Computer Science Teacher

The argument for Python is multiple. A third is that Python is increasingly used in disciplines that are not computer science. For example the Physics and Chemistry departments are Stanford want their students to take a Python based CS1 course. I am finding the arguments for Python more convincing than I expected.

Helping Students Think With Their Whole Bodies

ED Surge

Paul, who says she reads academic journal articles for fun, first encountered this argument when she came across a 1998 paper by philosophers Andy Clark and David Chalmers, who argued that the human mind extends into the world around it. Teachers Have Little Say When School Districts Make Decisions. Here's How We Change That.

ED Surge

It was fall 2020, and here I was, sitting at my computer in tears. In moments of crisis, decisions are made without consideration of the impact on educators' mental and physical health. Quite frankly, this argument relies on decontextualized data to assess student performance. In theory, the rotations were logistically sound.
