I think Yves Pomeau already had a theoretical argument for this, but as far as I was concerned, it was (at least at first) just a “next thing to try”. It’s about molecules being carefully channeled and actively transported from one “event” to another. It’s not about molecules randomly moving around, like in a liquid.
