OTT 91: A Teacher's Perspective on the New Normal

OTT 91: A Teacher's Perspective on the New Normal

Teaching during a pandemic is difficult. It comes with many challenges such as public criticism, concerns over health and safety, teaching barriers, and pure exhaustion. Today I share my own perspective on what it means to teach during this new normal.

What can we do to move forward?

Take care of yourself. Get the proper rest you need, set boundaries, leave on time, stop judging one another, strive for a win-win, make connections with others, join groups that support you and inspire you, and be honest about your feelings. All of these things can help you persevere during difficult times. Another suggestion is to keep a gratitude journal. Gratitude journaling can help a great deal. Most of all, believe in yourself and what you are doing.
