Flexible STEM with Marble Run

Marble Run is another one of the Flexible STEM units that it can be taught through various learning models to help your kids experience STEM. The Flexible STEM units can all be taught as in a digital capacity, hybrid model or in-person.

In Marble Run, kids work in teams to design and test a marble “roller coaster” using easy, low-cost materials. Teams follow provided criteria and constraints and follow the engineering design process to develop and refine their models. Student STEM notebook pages serve as a template as students work through brainstorming, building and testing their marble runs.

Each Flexible STEM unit contains these three materials:

Teacher Guide- includes standards, set-up and other nuts and bolts information for the teacher
Teacher Slide Deck- introduces the design challenge to students and helps the teacher guide students through the engineering design process
Student Slide Deck- consists of student “notebook” pages that can be used virtually or printed out for student observations and data

This bundle is great to support a traditional in-person unit and can be used for hybrid or digital learning too. It complements STEM notebooks and Engineering Design performance indicators in NGSS to provide a comprehensive learning experience…and a lot of fun for kids!
