School Support: ESERO One Million Interactions (Space)

One Million Interactions is an initiative to attract more young people into science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and the space industry. Supporting STEM Ambassadors to deliver successful interactions with young people, inspiring and encouraging the next generation of space professionals. The overall aim of the initiative is to help create 1 million interactions between young people and space professionals each year.”

This sounds great! What support is on offer to schools and students?

STEM Ambassadors can provide:

  • Careers talks and advice.
  • Help with enrichment activities by bringing ESERO-UK resources to life, supporting STEM Clubs, science and space weeks and more.
  • Working with teachers to integrate space into the teaching of STEM curricula.
  • Project mentoring including mentoring for CanSat and Climate Detectives competitions.
  • Providing one-off sessions with a group of students using space to enthuse and inspire young people into space careers.

The initiative was launched by the UK Space Agency, ESERO-UK, STEM Ambassadors and The Careers and Enterprise Company, and has pledged to deliver one million interactions per year with young people to emphasize ‘space’ as a context for teaching the curriculum.
