Unilever Bright Future Awards 2022/23!

We are overjoyed to announce that our Unilever Bright Future 2022/23 winner is…

MEOLS COP HIGH SCHOOL!

Congratulations to Meols Cop High School on a fun and fabulous, planet-friendly project and a huge well done to Ellesmere Port C of E College (2nd), Greenbank High School (3rd) and all of our sensational special award winners!

In November 2022, All About STEM invited schools to take part in the Unilever Bright Future Programme hosted by Unilever Port Sunlight. Schools from across the region took part in activities that introduced them to processing, packaging, the environment and more. Following this, students had the opportunity to design their own environmentally friendly/sustainable product over a three-month period and then present their ideas to Unilever experts at our Awards and Celebration Day.

Take a look below at the ingenious innovations from our top three teams!

Winner – 1st Place: Meols Cop High School
Product: Quacks n’ Co – Little Quacks

Meols Cop created a sustainable soap aimed at children that was shaped like an adorable rubber duck! Within the beak, consumers could find a collection of seeds to plant after use.

The team presented three prototype designs, including a clay model and a painted 3D-printed model along with an elegant presentation box with promotional QR codes linked to their website.

2nd Place: Ellesmere Port C of E College
Product: Bliss – Natural Glory

Ellesmere Port created a body wash with Vanilla Sandalwood and Vitamin E Oil. Their concept focused on ‘Go Green!’ with a green colour scheme, sustainable packaging, a stunning tree logo and natural ingredients. Their presentation was enhanced by a selection of pristine prototypes and samples.

3rd Place: Greenbank High School
Product: Bee-autiful!

Greenbank presented ingenious compressed tablets that (when hydrated) transformed into sustainable and luxurious face masks! Made from biodegradable cotton, masks came with a seed tube so they could be popped inside after use to grow wildflowers. Perfect for your beauty regime and our bee population!
