Creating Careers: Allied Health (Ages 13-19)
Introducing your pupils to various careers has never been more important. Likewise, Benchmark 5 ‘encounters with employers’ is an obligation and an important part of a young person’s education.
To help you meet these requirements, LCR Careers Hub has partnered with Springpod to bring you a FREE on-demand opportunity for pupils aged 13-19 to learn about careers in the Allied Health Professions including:
Operating Department Practice
Physiotherapy
Paramedic practice
Radiography
The programme will cover everything from an introduction to the different areas of Allied Health Professions to an insight into the distinct roles, responsibilities, and progression opportunities that can be found within each career.
Students will have the chance to take part in some great quizzes and amazing activities, as well as hearing from the professionals themselves via on-demand video content.
Pupils also have the chance to speak to a local NHS employer along the way to find out how they can obtain voluntary placements and opportunities such as apprenticeships (fulfilling PAL obligations).
Pupils who take part will receive a certificate of completion and can use the experience as evidence on their CV and personal statements for university, college, apprenticeship, and employment applications!
Key Points
- The on-demand modules can be completed at a pace that suits the student and can be completed in the classroom or at home.
- The experience will take place over a 2-week period: 3rd – 14th July 2023.
Taking approx. 10 hours to complete. - The deadline for application is the 23rd of June 2023.
- Pupils can apply via the Springpod application page.
PPT resources are available for you to launch this opportunity in an assembly. There is also the option to enrol students/classes in bulk. For support and questions contact: [email protected].
Teachers will have the opportunity to log into their own portal and monitor pupil progress and ongoing support will be provided.
