Dr Davis Chacon-Hurtado , a Peruvian engineer at the University of Connecticut in the US, is using a human rights-based approach to engineering to solve these problems. He is investigating the connection between poor transport links and social inequality, and bringing sanitation to a remote community in the Andes.
