CARDINAL ORDINAL AND NOMINAL NUMBERS

Cardinal Numbers :

Cardinal number is the number that denotes quantity of something. It answers the question, how many. So it is also called as counting numbers.

Example :

There are 3 cups in the above picture.

Ordinal Numbers :

Ordinal number is the number which gives us the exact position of an object. Ordinal number always tells the position of an object rather than their quantity.

Example :

Nominal Numbers :

Nominal number is the number which is used for identification only.

In other words, nominal represents the name of the number.
