Free End of the Year Activity (Creativity Challenge)
Teachers, are you looking for a free resource for the end of the school year?
Spark your students’ creativity at the end the the year with a FREE Finish the Picture Creativity Challenge. With the It’s NOT Sunglasses Creativity Challenge the sunglasses serve as a canvas for students to transform them into various objects, unleashing their imagination.
What are creativity challenges?
Creativity Challenges are a great way to help students build creative stamina.
The goal of a creativity challenge is to help students think outside the box. In a creativity challenge, students are presented with a problem that they have to solve using their creativity. Typically these challenges are short lasting anywhere from 3-10 minutes.
By implementing these challenges on a regular basis students are able to exercise their creativity muscles.
Finish the Picture CREATIVITY CHALLENGE
The finish the picture activity is an example of a creativity challenge that you can use in your classroom.
Materials Needed:
Pencil
Timer
Colored Pencils, Crayons, Markers (optional)
Have students complete this challenge individually or with a partner.
The goal of the finish the picture challenge is for students to complete the image while following the constraints given in the directions.
Before students begin, explain to them that the focus is not on the skill of the drawings. Rather, students should be more concerned with coming up with a creative solution to complete the drawing. At the end of the challenge have students share the ideas that they came up with.
