Monster STEM Challenge

Integrate STEM in your classroom this Halloween season with a monster themed STEM Challenge!

Challenge your students to build an obstacle course of monster traps so that Winifred can get some rest.

Material List:

  • Construction Paper

  • Tape or Glue

  • Crayons or Markers

  • Scissors

  • Pipe Cleaners

  • Monster Trouble! by Lane Fredrickson

Help, the monsters are keeping Winifred awake! After reading Monster Trouble! by Lane Fredrickson challenge your students to design an obstacle course full of monster traps to keep the monsters away so Winifred can get some rest.

Students must include a doorway for the monsters and a bed for Winifred in their designs.

After the STEM challenge is complete, have students write a step-by-step explanation sharing how the monsters would navigate through the obstacles.
