5 Little Pumpkins STEM Challenge

Integrate STEM in your classroom this Halloween Season with a 5 Little Pumpkins themed STEM Challenge!

Can you build a gate for the 5 Little Pumpkins?!

Challenge your students to build a gate for the 5 Little Pumpkins using Keva Planks or similar blocks.

Material List:

After reading 5 Little Pumpkins challenge your students to build a gate that can fit all of the pumpkins. Have students order the pumpkins from 1-5. For more of a challenge have students place the pumpkins in reverse order from 5-1. Students can also practice counting and number recognition.

Incorporate literacy by reviewing the 5 Little Pumpkins nursery rhyme. Talk about rhyming words and challenge students to find the rhyming words in the nursery rhyme.

After the STEM challenge is complete, have students think about what happened after the pumpkins rolled away. Where did they go? What did they do? Have students write a narrative to continue the story.
